my latest project
EOS 1000D kit 18-55 $1099 ~ $1100
EF 28mm f/2.8 (wide angle lens) $389 ~ $400
Hoya 58mm circular polarising filter $30-40
total: $1100 + $400 + $30 = $1530
365 x 2 = 730
1530 / 730 ~ 2.10
- 1 day $2.10
- 1 week $14.70 ~ $15
- 1 month $60
- 1 year $720
- 2 years $1440 (by then the 1000D kit will drop in value/there'll be a cheaper model)
goal: take a decent shot (ie A.net worthy) of a plane from changi beach. that's all i ask for.
EDIT:
the amount of time i'll take to reach that target will drop because:
#1 i might go for a 2nd hand body (the lenses and filter - first hand)
#2 my dad wants to donate $500 to the cause (yes!!!!!)

i have no idea how much a 2nd hand 1000D body costs, it might not even be available yet seeing it's a relatively new model. but my dad's donation shaves off a cool more-than-half-a-year of savings!!! i might get my DSLR before the 2010 air show!!
